whale watching was much more impressive than i thought. i expected it to be “nice”, but it was quite overwhelming. It must be the size, the setting, everything together… when you see the green spot announcing the whale surfacing (it is green because the plancton makes the white skin look green through the water :), then that huge back coming out of the water, see the water jet and hear the breathing, and then, best of all, the huge tail coming out and diving silently, heavy but gracious, incredibly harmonious, back into the water, you get goosebumps. quite amazing.
20 miles out of boston, take the catamaran from one long wharf close to the big acquarium. 35$, 3 hours. worth it.
